Solution to PS 7 #2

If 58% of the bases are G+C, then 42% of the residues must be A+T.  Since every A pairs with a T on the opposite strand, the number of deoxyadenosine residues equals the number of deoxythymidine residues.  Therefore 21% of the residues are deoxythymidine (2 x 1000 pairs x 0.21=420) or 420 residues are T.
