Solution to PS 3 #6

Similarities:  1)  Both contain heme which binds oxygen.  2) The secondary structure in both cases is primarily a-helix.
Differences:  1) Hb is a tetramer while Mb is a monomer. This leads to  coorperative O2 binding  in Hb  which is not present in Mb.  2) There are 4 hemes in Hb and only one heme in Mb.
