Solution to PS 8 #8

Using the table of the genetic code (Figure 22.3 in our textbook)
 
If the original mRNA sequence was:

5'-CCUCAUAUG-CGC-CAU-UAU-AAG-UGA-CAC-ACA-3'

Starting with the code for Met which is AUG (in red) and breaking the sequnce into triplets of bases after the start code (AUG) we get the amino acid  sequence is:

Met-Arg-His-Tyr-Lys

(Note: when the  stop code  AGA is encountered  no additional amno acids are added to the polypeptide)
