CO₂ + 2CH₃CH₂OH --> (CH₂O) + 2CH₃CHO + H₂O

b) When H₂O is used O₂ is the product, but when other donors are used such as H₂S or ethanol, oxygen is not produced.

c) CO₂ + 2H₂A --> (CH₂O) + 2A + H₂O
